FLOWER HOTELS SPONSORSHIP SET TO SOAR IN 2025

Flower Hotels has been proudly serving the Mid North Coast since 2017. Focus Magazine caught up with proprietor Alistair Flower to discuss his community-driven approach to business and the exciting sponsorship plans for the year ahead.

Commitment to Community

Alistair, you're well known for your commitment to the community, with Flower Hotels investing significant sponsorship funds into local groups and sporting organisations. Why is this such an important part of your business?

As custodians of our pubs, we see them as the heartbeat of their communities. Our purpose is to connect people, and these local clubs and organisations are the fabric of our towns. Supporting them is something we're passionate about—it's a natural, hand-in-glove relationship.

Supporting Local Sports

Flower Hotels has supported numerous local sporting clubs over the years. Can you share some highlights where your sponsorship has helped teams achieve success?

We're proud to sponsor over 45 local clubs, and one of the most rewarding aspects is helping teams rebuild and thrive. The Lake Cathie Raiders are a great example. After a hiatus of a few years, they’ve made a strong comeback and now have a true home within our pub. The Lake Cathie Netball Club is another fantastic new club that has flourished, thanks to a strong and supportive local community.

We also love our involvement with the Hastings League, which continues to grow. This year, the rugby league competition has expanded to 11 clubs, which is a great outcome for the region.

The volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes drives success for local clubs and, ultimately, makes our communities stronger.

The Power of Sponsorship

2025 is shaping up to be a big year for sponsorship. How does your backing benefit not just the clubs and their members, but the wider community as well?

I strongly believe that being part of a community club has enormous benefits for both physical and mental well-being. The COVID years really reinforced how vital community connection is, and local clubs, along with the local pub, are at the heart of that.

The best way to lift people up is through the power of community, and if our financial contribution helps increase participation and strengthen these clubs on and off the field, then everyone wins. Of course, none of this would be possible without the incredible volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Their dedication is what truly drives success for these clubs and, ultimately, makes our communities stronger.

Getting Involved

Flower Hotels is always looking for new ways to engage and support local groups. For those seeking sponsorship, what’s the best way to get in touch?

I’m always happy to chat—whether it’s through social media, in person at one of the pubs, or via email at info@flowerhotels.com.au. I’ll always do my best to support a club’s success and help strengthen the local sporting scene.
